demons

Curious I am
to impure calls of night
to thoughts that grasp my hand
and stray me from the light

They shriek as demons will
crawl forth from satans breast
and dance in ethers stead
my heart be all but blessed

Till morn she brings the light
and shadows reappear
they steal into the shade
my demons disappear

Well done as always. Oh yes those thought are demons for sure, if we allow them to they will cause us to loose our light. It is in our nature to be curious it is in our character to have self-control. At least that was my interpretation of it. I enjoyed the thought even if it was not.

You have a gift that most poets aspire too. You say so much in so few word and still telling of a story with a poet's emotion. Beautiful write my new friend.

The brightest of mornings does away with the darkest of nights. Great message there, Clifton! Although with that said, there are unfortunately some people whose demons follow them during the day, haunting everything they do. And even still, there are some people without remorse, much less demons. I wonder about those people sometimes...But I digress. I really liked your word choice in this. It was key for conveying the otherworldly tone of the poem. Really nice work!
